Select this option to install onto a computer that is going to hold both the database and the Client application. This is the installation for a single non- networked computer, and also for the DB server machine in a network, where the DB resides on this computer which is also used as a workstation for one of the users (e.g. receptionist) and where other remote users on the network connect to it to access the DB.
- Select Typical Install and click Next
- Select the Destination Directory (location) of the Client Application/Program and click > Next
- (By default the Client Application will be installed to a subfolder of C:\Program Files (x86)\MTM\specifiedPRnumber. (Please do not change this default)
- Select Database Name (which you can change if you will have many databases) and Database Directory (location - please do not change)
- By default the database will be called Kudu, Rhino, Oribi or Loerie depending on your practice type. The name will also include the PR number so that there is no problem having multiple Rhino practices on the same computer each with its own PR number
- It should only be necessary to change this name if:
- You are creating a second database for a PR (see 1.3 Creating a Second Database below), OR
- You are running a number of different practices on the same computer (e.g. in a mini bureau environment) and it would be simpler to have the DBs identified by the practioner’s name - in which case change the DB name from e.g. Rhino to e.g. DrSmith (NO SPACES)
- By default we locate the DB in the folder c:\Program Data\MTM. The only reason you should change this is if you have limited space on your C:drive and would rather hold the DB on a bigger drive, in which case change it to the other drive’s path (e.g. D:\MTM). Note that since each DB is named with reference to its PR Number and its unique name, all MTM databases should be kept in the same folder. Please do NOT locate the DB on and external/removable drive.
- X Click Next, Next etc. then Finish.
- You can use either the Desktop Icon or the Start Menu Shortcut to launch the program.
