Select this if you have already done either a typical or server only install onto another computer where the DB is now located, and from this computer you want to access that DB (i.e. this computer is a remote workstation on the network) and will never need the DB to be locally situated on its own hard drive.

Note: that even if the workstation is generally used as a remote workstation, but you might want to hold a copy of the DB on it, there is no problem with having both Client and Server installed (i.e. Option A: Typical installation) but  using only the Client and pointing it to the DB on a separate server machine). In an installation like this you might occasionally backup the DB from the server & restore it to the DB on the local drive. But care must be taken that the correct DB on the server is selected.

  • You can use either the Desktop Icon or the Start Menu Shortcut to launch the program.
  • Run the MadetoMeasureSetup.exe (remember your registration key must be in the same folder as the setup) >Select Custom Installation > Client Install and ensure that Server Install is unchecked
  • Select the Destination Directory (location) of the Client Application/Program and click > Next
  • By default the database will be called Kudu, Rhino, Oribi or Loerie depending on your practice type. The name will also include the PR number so that there is no problem having multiple Rhino practices on the same computer each with its own PR number
  • Click Next, Next etc. then Finish.
  • You can use either the Desktop Icon or the Start Menu Shortcut to launch the program.
  • On opening the Program it will need to find its DB.  Ensure that the server machine has Port 3050 open for bi-directional traffic (see: http://maximumpcguides.com/windows-7/open-a-port-in-windows-7s-firewall/). The name or IP of the Server Machine hosting the DB will need to be input, after which this client installation should establish a connection to it
