This means that the Firebird Database server has not started for some reason.  It is set to start every time you start windows by being included in the windows startup folder.

First Restart windows and make sure that you wait for everything to load properly before opening your M2M program.  This will usually resolve the issue. 


Make sure that the Firebird Guardian and Firebird Server Windows services are running.  This can be accessed via the Windows Services screen under Administrative tools.



 If it is being stubborn and the problem persists then you may need technical assistance to determine why it is not starting from the startup folder as designed.  In extremely stubborn case you can put a shortcut onto your desktop so that you can start the server manually before opening your M2M program.

This error can also present when the Firebird service is running fine but access may be blocked by the Firewall component of your Anti Virus software.  You will need technical assistance especially with incompatible AV software such as AVG and AVast
