You can create a separate Database for a separate set of clients.  This database will be completely independent of the first and can have its own letterhead and banking details,  list of rates, tariff codes, medical aids,  clients etc.  You will need to run a separate monthend, BACKUPS, and print reports.  The only information that it will share with the first is the email and print settings and text messages/ sql etc that you might have stored in the \MTM\Shared folder.

There are 2 way to set up a new database- use 1 or 2

1. Using the Installer:

Download MadeToMeasureSetup.exe from the Downloads article on this Knowledgebase.  Place it in a folder together with the registration key emailed to you.  Run the setup selecting a Custom install (NOT typical) and then choose Server only.   Give the new database a name  different to the name used for your first database.  Eg Cash, Knysna, KuduIOD.  DO NOT PUT SPACES OR SPECIAL CHARACTERS in the name and keep it reasonably short.

2. Using the DBManager application

Run the DBManager program from your start menu (ensure that it is at least version 1.05 - it can also be downloaded from the Downloads chapter of the Knowledgebase).  It will ask you to browse to your registration key which should be in the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\MTM\prnum  and has the format: YourPRName_RegKey.dat.  Give your new database a name as in 1 above.

3. Use the Connection Manager to connect to your new Database

In your MTM program go to Setup - Connection Manager and click on the 'Add a connection'  button.  The new database should be available for selection.

You will use this connection manager to swop between your different databases selecting the database with 'Set as Current'.

4. Set up options for the new database

  1.  Give the new Database its own Practice name - In Setup - system variables.
  2.  Give the new database its own menu colour to avoid confusion. - In Setup - system variables.
  3.  You can also give it a different range of account numbers so that a client's account number indicates which database holds that client.
  4.  In Setup - system variables set the 'Last Account Number'  to eg 70000 so that all accounts in this database will start with a 7.
  5.  If you will be EDI'ing from this database you will need to get a second mailbox from Datamax. (Namibian users should set a separate EDI folder so that the batches do not get confused with the other database batches.

All of these settings are explained in detail in the Helpfiles within the program.
